WELCOME

Southside Virginia Community College offers GED Preparation courses located at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center in downtown South Boston, Virginia.

Middle College is a fast track GED preparation program offered for students ages 18-24. Students will receive assistance in gaining the necessary knowledge in order to obtain their GED. Students enrolled in the program will also develop career readiness training.

Adult Basic Education is designed for individuals ages 18 and up as a review of basic skills needed to obtain a GED. 

There is no cost for either Middle College or Adult Basic Education. Both programs are provided free of charge to anyone interested in obtaining a GED. Our service area consists of Halifax County and the surrounding areas.
