The Halifax Education Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce the establishment of "The Hope Scholarship" in honor of Buford T. and Alvelta Hope Arthur Lumsden. Through generous donations of $25,000, "The Hope Scholarship" is the first endowed scholarship fund of the Halifax Educational Foundation, Inc.
The endowment provides scholarships to students enrolled in the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center (HEC) located in downtown South Boston, Virginia. A focus of the endowment is to provide financial help to students planning a career in health care.
The Halifax Educational Foundation, Inc. congratulates Mr. and Mrs. Lumsden for being honored with this endowed scholarship that will continue to benefit students at the Center now and in the future.
Scholarship applications are available at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center.
