GUIDELINES FOR HEC BOOKSTORE CHARGES

Pell Grant, Scholarship. Foundation Grant, Trade Act, Workforce Investment Act, Education for Independence, ETC:

Charges begin January 3

Pell Grant, Trade Act & Workforce Investment Charges begin January 3

A student must present her/his class schedule each time a textbook purchase is made.  The charge will not be permitted without it.  DCC Pell students must have a Book Voucher authorizing the HEC Bookstore to charge their textbooks.  SVCC Pell students must have a Book Voucher authorizing the HEC Bookstore to charge DCC textbooks to SVCC.

You may charge all required textbooks for the courses you are taking up to the amount specified on your voucher or award letter.  If you charge more than you have Pell, Foundation Grant, Tobacco Scholarship, Trade Act or Workforce Investment Act funds to cover, you will be responsible for paying the HEC Bookstore the difference.  Payment must be made within one week of the notification that sponsor did not cover charges.

If your student status changes and you do not have enough money to cover your textbooks/supplies, you will be responsible for paying the HEC Bookstore.

If you are registered for a class that starts later in the semester, you are encouraged to go ahead and charge the textbook before the charge period ends.

(KEEP YOUR RECEIPT!  If the class is cancelled or dropped, you will need the receipt to return the textbook.)

Trade Act and Workforce Investment Students have a supply limit of up to $50.  This does not mean that you must spend $50 on supplies.  Only charge the supplies you need for your classes.  We do not have a way of keeping up with your supply amount.  It is your responsibility to keep all receipts and not exceed the $50 limit.  In the event you do, you will receive a bill from the HEC Bookstore and your HEC Bookstore account and possibly your college account will be flagged until the debt is settled.

DCC does not allow supplies to be purchased at the HEC Bookstore with Financial Aid funds; all purchases of supplies must be cash based for DCC students.
