To find out more about financial aid opportunities available to you, contact the Financial Aid Office at the SVHEC at 434-572-5479 or that of your college or university site director for assistance. Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is usually required.
Financial aid is available from many different sources including federal, state, institution, and private. Sources you may find helpful:
- Guidance counselors - offer information about financial aid programs available from your community.
- Internet - provides free electronic searches for information about different types of grants and scholarships available to students.
- Libraries - have resource books with information about national financial aid programs.
- College financial aid office - has information about financial aid programs available from the institution and state government. Contact an SVHEC site director.
- Employers - may provide educational assistance for employees.
